What To Expect During Your First Visit
When you arrive at our Mesa office, Julia, our receptionist, is typically the first face you will see. She's very nice, and can speak Spanish. Julia will ask you to complete some initial intake forms, and will copy your insurance card and drivers license. If you have been involved in an auto accident, we ask that you bring the accident report and your auto insurance information. This will all be copied and kept in your file.
After the forms are completed, the doctor will review your paperwork while Julia takes your vitals (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temp). If you have never been to a chiropractor before or haven't been in a long time we will show you a short video.
You will then meet with our favorite Mesa chiropractor, Dr. Ahnen for an interview.
He will ask you some pertinent questions so he can best understand your case. After the interview, the doctor will complete an exam in one of our adjusting rooms, and then x-rays if needed.
After Dr. Ahnen has gathered the information from the history, exam, X-rays (if taken), labs, and ruled out any contraindications, treatment is typically given (depending on your condition and past experience with chiropractic).
Treatment may be some Physio Medicine, massage, nutrition, or may include an adjustment, if the condition and patient expectation warrants it.
After treatment you will be given some instructions as to what you can do at home (ice/heat, walk, herbs and vitamins, stretch, etc), and when to come back for your next treatment.
A referral will be given if your condition is something we cannot help you with.
